Graduate Certificate - Web Development (11491) (Duration : 12 months)

Course Stream: Computers
Course Level: Bachelor Program
Course Fee: $23000

Course Description

Humber’s Web Development graduate certificate program focuses on the development of websites and web services for multiple environments including database-driven programming, content management and mobile services. A combination of conceptual and practical training will prepare you to execute effective, efficient website design. Work completed individually and in teams will simulate the real-world work environment and hone collaborative and teamwork skills. You will create commercial websites that apply theories of user-centered design, security, information architecture, quality assurance testing and responsive design. This program will help you master the project management and presentation skills that are key to success in the workplace. You will be working on websites that meet strict business and development requirements. By the end of your final semester of study, you will have developed a comprehensive personal portfolio of your competencies, and you will be able to promote your skills at a portfolio show. Students will participate in a mandatory work placement which follows the last semester of study. BuildingF (formerly the AdCentre) brings marketers and agencies together with advanced students from virtually any Humber program to produce strategic creative content and technology solutions. Instead of just being given a grade for assignments, students are provided with a chance to work with real clients, on actual accounts, receiving first-hand experience in the field. The disciplines that can be accessed through BuildingF include anything found in a modern advertising, design or PR agency, including brand experience design, communications marketing, advertising design, writing, production, and much more. Canadians have registered more than 2.1 million dot-ca (.ca) domain names, an impressive achievement that reflects Canada’s position as one of the world’s most wired nations. Our program effectively addresses this trend by developing professionals able to create websites that respond to market and technology trends and support organizations’ corporate objectives. Graduates find full-time and freelance employment as web developers in corporate, small- and medium-sized businesses, government, entertainment, education, healthcare and the not-for-profit sectors. Graduates work as web developers, creating websites and providing web services, and as advisors on web policies and strategic objectives. Some of our graduates will also establish their own freelance businesses. Note: If a student applies for conditional acceptance but later decides to take their IELTS/TOEFL, they will need to reapply and submit a new application.
